MALAWI INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM (MIJ)
The Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ), a leading training institution for professional journalism, is inviting applications from both practicing and aspiring journalists into its full time and weekend journalism programmes.
PROGRAMMES AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1) CERTIFICATE IN JOURNALISM
Applicants should be holders of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), with at least four credits, including English.
2) DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM
Applicants should be holders of a Certificate in Journalism or its equivalent or any related higher qualification from a recognized institution.
Applicants with a tertiary qualification must also provide a proof of their journalism work, such as an article in a publication and a recorded TV or radio program.
3) BACHELOR OF ARTS IN JOURNALISM
Applicants into the degree programme must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent, with a minimum of six credits, including English and at least a pass in Mathematics, to start in Year 1.
Those with a Diploma in Journalism or related qualification from a recognised institution with a minimum of two years of work experience in relevant field and MSCE with four credits, including English, to start in Year 2.
TUITION FEES
a) The tuition fees for Bachelors of Arts Degree is MK460, 000 per semester
b) The tuition fees for Diploma and Certificate programs is MK345, 000

A non-refundable application fee of MK10,000.00 must be deposited into MIJ bank account as follows:

Remember to attach the bank deposit slip of the application fee with copies of your certificates from a recognised academic institution.

Always remember to use the MIJ bank account number as the Institute does not have Mpamba or Airtel Money account and does not use individuals to collect fees as cash. Therefore, MIJ will not be liable for any transactions made through Mpamba, Airtel Money or any individual.
